The feathers used in this work come from the natural molt of the bird that happens every six months following the seasons.
They have the particularity to be blue. However contrary to other colours, the blue colour in birds is not due to the presence of pigments in the bird body. Instead the blue colour comes from the physical structure of the feathers, that creates a light-wave resonance effect which in turn produces a structural blue aspect. In other words the shape creates the colour.
